The Fall Event Season in Hamblen County, Start to Finish

Fall is when Hamblen County is at its best, and the calendar is denser than most visitors expect for a county this size.

Late summer into September The county fair closes out summer with livestock shows, midway rides and the kind of crowd that makes the fairgrounds parking a strategy problem. Downtown's outdoor concert nights run alongside it while the evenings are still warm.

October Mountain Makins is the anchor — a long-running arts, crafts and heritage festival at the Rose Center with regional makers, music and food. Pumpkin patches, corn mazes and church trunk-or-treats fill the weekends around it, and the drive toward the lake peaks for color in the middle of the month.

November and December The holiday parade downtown, tree lightings, craft markets and school programs take over. Local shops lean hard into the small-business weekend after Thanksgiving, and downtown is the best it looks all year after dark.
